Building Communities One Cause At a Time

First, welcome to my site! Granted, it's simply a “one stop shop” to help build my SEO and online reputation (both professional and personal), but more importantly - have one central place to access my online social networks (mostly through Friendfeed, but I have also listed various other sites on the right hand side).

My professional background is in community mobilization & outreach on public health issues, with a specialty in chemical dependency prevention and tobacco control. My past work experience (and skill set) in both the non-profit and private sector include

  • Social media engagement, working with brands (and non-profits) on building word of mouth;
  • Grant writing/fund raising/special event planning, raising over $80,000 for several groups and coalitions
  • special event planning
  • Strategy & execution of community organization and mobilization efforts with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners
  • Strong background in public health/public policy advocacy efforts..
Although I maintain contacts in the non-profit community through volunteering with Chicago Net Tuesday, I am currently working for a word-of-mouth marketing agency here in Chicago, Illinois. Most of my current efforts involve research of conversations around specific brands, as well as creating and executing online and offline strategies to drive conversations around specific brands. Thanks to spending much time online, I have a very strong Facebook and Twitter

presence.

In my down time, I blog about comics, television, and pop culture at my personal blog, Blog THIS, Pal! and also write a monthly column for Comic Related. In my personal life, I enjoy comic collecting, movies, reading, and socializing/networking (both professional and personal). In fact, I am acting as class representative for my graduating class at St. Ignatius College Prep, doing a variety of things including running our Facebook page.

If I can be of assistance to you or your organization, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am more than willing to assist you and provide guidance and insight.
